Okay, so, I’ve been trying to kick this smoking habit for a while now. It’s tough, you know? I came across these things called Nic Out cigarette filters. The idea is that they help filter out some of the bad stuff from the smoke.
I figured, why not give them a shot? I ordered a pack online. They’re these little plastic things that you stick on the end of your cigarette. When they arrived, I popped one on a cigarette and lit up. It felt a bit weird at first, having this extra thing on the end. I smoked a few with the filter and, to be honest, I didn’t notice a huge difference in the taste. Maybe a little lighter, but nothing major.

The packaging says these filters are supposed to trap a lot of the tar. Apparently, they’re clear, so you can see the tar getting collected. So, after each cigarette, I examined it. Yeah, it definitely collected some gunk. It was kind of gross to see, but also kind of satisfying, like it was actually doing something.
I used the filters for a couple of weeks.
- Did it magically make me want to quit smoking? Nope.
- Did I feel any healthier? Not really.
- Did it ease up my coughing? It did actually.
My Experience
Honestly, these filters are probably more of a psychological thing. Seeing the tar build-up is a good visual reminder of what you’re putting into your body. Maybe that helps some people cut back or quit. I am still smoking, but I have cut back since I started using these. The filter change is a nice reminder that I am trying to change. The coughing has eased up, and that is a plus. For me, they’re just one small tool in the whole quitting process. It’s not a miracle cure, but it’s something. I need all the help I can get! I am going to keep using them and see if it helps with quitting. I have heard that it is important to keep trying to quit, so I am going to do that. Quitting is tough.
If you’re a smoker and you’re thinking about quitting or cutting back, these might be worth a try. Just don’t expect them to do all the work for you. They are cheap and I think they could help you cut back. You still have to put in the effort to change your habits.
