Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this menthol nicotine vape thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I used to smoke, like a lot of people, and I wanted to quit. So, first, I did some digging online. I figured vaping might be a bit better, you know, less of the really bad stuff from cigarettes. But even then, I read that there are still some chemicals in vapes that aren’t great for your lungs. Plus, nobody really knows the long-term effects yet. That gave me a pause.
Anyway, I decided to give it a shot. The first thing I had to figure out was what kind of vape juice to get. Apparently, it depends on what you want and what kind of vape you’ve got. Since I wanted something that felt a bit like smoking, with a stronger hit in the throat and more flavor, I went with what they call a 50:50 blend.

- Started with a basic vape pen. Nothing fancy.
- Got a bottle of menthol e-liquid, 50:50 blend.
- Filled the tank. This was easy enough, just unscrew the top and pour it in.
Now, the actual vaping part. From what I gathered, there are different ways to do it. I tried what they call MTL, or mouth-to-lung. Basically, you take a slow drag, hold the vapor in your mouth for a second, and then inhale it into your lungs before blowing it out. That’s what I did. The first few times, I coughed a bit, not gonna lie. But I got used to it pretty quick.
The Menthol Hit
The menthol flavor was intense! It gave me that cool, refreshing feeling I used to get from menthol cigarettes. I started using it whenever I felt the urge to smoke. It definitely helped with the cravings. I also noticed that I wasn’t coughing as much as when I smoked regular cigarettes.
I kept this up for a few weeks. I even tried a couple of different menthol flavors from different brands. Some were stronger, some were a bit more subtle. It was kind of fun experimenting to find what I liked best.
I’ve also found out that I need to be careful when I travel with this thing. I was on a flight recently and learned that you can only take bottles of vape juice that are 100ml or less. Good thing I checked beforehand, or I would have had to throw it all away at the airport!
So, that’s where I’m at now. I’m still vaping, but I’m not smoking cigarettes anymore, which feels like a win. I know it’s not perfect, and there are still some risks, but it’s been better for me so far. I’m just taking it one day at a time and staying informed about the whole thing. Hope this little story of mine is helpful to someone out there!
