Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about “Lost Mary” vapes and whether or not they contain diacetyl. It’s a legit concern, that stuff can mess you up. So, I decided to do a little digging and, well, it got a bit hands-on.
My Little Experiment
First, I hit up the internet. I read through forums, checked out manufacturer websites (when I could find them!), and basically tried to get a clear answer. The problem? It’s all pretty murky. Some people swear they’re diacetyl-free, others aren’t so sure. Lots of “maybes” and “probably nots.” Not very reassuring.
So, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I grabbed a few different Lost Mary flavors from a local shop – the ones I use regularly anyway. My thinking was, if I’m vaping these things, I want to know exactly what’s in them.
Disclaimer time: I’m not a scientist, and I don’t have a fancy lab. I’m just a regular person with a healthy dose of curiosity and a concern for my lungs.
I am not going to go and send them to the lab and wait for the results. I am a normal person with my own practice and notes.
My Method (Such as it is):
- Looked at the packaging. Seriously, you’d be surprised how much (or how little) info is on these things. Any mention of ingredients? Nope.
- Checked the “official” Lost Mary website (if there is one–still figuring it out). Found some vague statements about quality and safety, but nothing concrete about diacetyl.
- And there is nothing that I can do and find, so keep looking for it.
The (Unsatisfying) Conclusion
Honestly? I didn’t get any closer to a definitive answer. Lost Mary, like a lot of vape brands, seems to operate in this weird gray area of transparency. It’s frustrating!
I am still looking for ways to know exactly, I will update my practice notes if I find a way to practice.
For now, I’m stuck in the same place I started: unsure. It’s a reminder that with vaping, you’re often taking a bit of a leap of faith. I wish it weren’t so, but that’s the reality right now. I’ll keep digging, and if I find anything concrete, I’ll definitely share it. Stay tuned!
