Okay, so I’ve been getting a ton of questions about getting into vaping, and honestly, it can be super confusing at first. There’s so much gear and juice and it’s like, where do you even start? I remember feeling totally lost when I first looked into it. So, I figured I’d break down my own journey and what I’ve learned, hopefully, it helps some of you newbies out there.
First thing I did was hit up a local vape shop. Forget those gas station ones, I’m talking about a real shop, just searching around. The guy there was super helpful, which was a relief. I told him I was a complete beginner, didn’t know anything and didn’t want anything complicated. I just wanted something simple to help me kick the cigs, you know?

He steered me away from those huge, boxy mods with all the buttons and screens. Seriously, those things look like spaceships! Instead, he showed me some pod systems. They’re way smaller and easier to use.
We looked at a few, and I ended up grabbing a Vaporesso XROS 3 Mini. It’s, like, the size of my thumb, super sleek. And the best part? No buttons! You just inhale, and it works. He also pointed out a Uwell Caliburn A3, said it’s a solid choice too. But I kinda liked the look of the XROS better.
Filling it Up
- First, picked the device.
- Then, I had to pick a juice.
The dude explained about nicotine strengths and all that. I went with a 20mg nic salt juice, some kinda mango flavor. He showed me how to fill the pod, it was easy, just pop the top off and squirt the juice in. Pop the top back on, and I think that it is done.
First Vape
So I put to my mouth, I took a puff, and… wow. It was surprisingly smooth! The flavor was way better than I expected, and I got that nicotine hit I was craving, without all the nasty smoke and stink of cigarettes. I was instantly hooked, but in a good way, I think.
Figuring Things Out
I used that little XROS for a few weeks, just getting the hang of it. I did some more reading online, checking out some forums and stuff. I learned about changing the pods – you gotta do that every week or two, depending on how much you vape. It’s super simple, just pull the old one out and stick a new one in. No mess, no fuss.
I also learned about the different types of coils. This rabbit hole is endless, there’s so much info! I have tried different resistance. Eventually, I found the one I liked. I’ve stuck with it ever since.
Honestly, starting with a simple pod system was the best decision. It took away all the intimidation and let me focus on just enjoying the experience. Now, I’m way more comfortable with vaping, and I’ve even started experimenting with different juices and flavors. It’s been a fun ride, and I’m glad I made the switch!
