Well, hey there! Let’s talk about them disposable vapes with no nicotine, you know, the ones them youngsters are puffin’ on these days. I tell ya, I don’t get it, but my grandson, bless his heart, he tried to explain it to me. Said somethin’ about wanting to quit the “real stuff” but still likin’ the feel of it. Kids these days, always somethin’ new.
So, what are these things anyway? They look like little sticks, kinda fancy-like, with all them colors. And they got flavors, too! I heard tell of mango, and strawberry, and even somethin’ called “blue razz.” What in tarnation is a blue razz? Back in my day, we had apples and oranges, and that was that.
- No Nicotine: That means no “kick,” my grandson says. It’s just the… the… vapor, I guess. Like steamin’ up your glasses when you’re washin’ dishes, but you suck it in.
- Disposable: Means you use it and toss it. Like them paper plates at the church picnic. No refillin’, no fussin’, just throw it away when you’re done. Seems wasteful to me, but what do I know?
- Vape: That’s the puffin’ part. You suck on it and this cloud of… stuff… comes out. Don’t look like smoke to me, more like… well, I don’t know what it’s like, but it ain’t smoke.
Now, I heard some folks sayin’ these no-nicotine things are better for you than the ones with the nicotine. Well, maybe so. My grandson said somethin’ about the nicotine bein’ the bad part, the part that gets ya hooked. But then I also heard tell from Mrs. Henderson down the street, her nephew’s a doctor you know, that even without the nicotine, these things ain’t exactly good for your lungs. Said somethin’ about “inflammation” and “stress” on your lungs. Sounds scary to me. Like when your joints get all swollen and achy, but inside your chest.
So, why are folks usin’ ’em? Well, like I said, some are tryin’ to quit the nicotine vapes. My grandson, he started with them strong ones, then went to the weaker ones, and now he’s on these zero-nicotine ones. He says it helps him not crave the real cigarettes, the ones that smell like burnt leaves and make you cough like a sick cow. He says it keeps his hands busy, somethin’ to do instead of lightin’ up.
And then there’s the youngsters, the ones that never smoked in the first place. They just like the puffin’, the flavors, the… I don’t know, the coolness of it, I guess. They do it for fun, like them kids back in my day used to chew bubblegum and blow big bubbles. Different times, I reckon.
But here’s what I think, and mind you, I’m just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two. It just seems to me like a whole lotta fuss over nothin’. If you ain’t smokin’ them real cigarettes, why start puffin’ on anything at all? It’s like… like eatin’ candy when you ain’t hungry. Just fillin’ your belly with somethin’ you don’t need. And if you are tryin’ to quit, well, good on ya. But I hope you ain’t just tradin’ one bad habit for another.
Seems like there’s always somethin’ new folks are doin’ to themselves. Back in my day, it was cigarettes and whiskey. Now it’s these vapes and Lord knows what else. I just hope them youngsters know what they’re doin’. Life’s too short to be fillin’ your lungs with stuff that ain’t good for ya, nicotine or no nicotine.
There’s places that sell these things, you know, all over. My grandson, he gets his from some store down on Main Street. Said they got all sorts of flavors and brands. He even showed me one time, this whole wall full of ‘em, like candy at the general store. But I told him, “Boy, you be careful with that stuff. Just ‘cause it doesn’t have that nicotine doesn’t mean it’s good for ya.” And he just smiled and patted my hand, like I was an old fool. Maybe I am, but I still worry about him.
So, that’s the long and short of it, as far as I can tell. Disposable vapes with no nicotine. They’re out there, folks are usin’ ‘em, and I still don’t quite understand it. But then again, I don’t understand half the things folks do these days. Just remember, your health is important, and breathin’ clean air is a blessin’.
