Okay, so, I wanted to roll my own smokes, you know, save a few bucks. I looked into it and decided to get myself an electric cigarette machine. I went with the Powermatic 2+. Seemed like a decent choice, had good reviews and stuff.
First thing I did was get the machine all set up. It came in a few parts, but it was pretty easy to put together. I just followed the instructions, nothing complicated. Once it was assembled, I grabbed my tobacco and some empty tubes. Now, I learned that the kind of tobacco you use matters. I initially tried pipe tobacco, bad choice! It was way too moist and dense. It just clogged up the machine and wouldn’t fill the tubes right. So, that was a fail.

- I did some more reading and realized that the tobacco needs to be a bit drier for these machines to work well.
- So, I took the tobacco I had, spread it out in a container, and let it dry out for a while.
- I’d mix it around with my hands every now and then to help it along.
Learning from my mistakes
After a bit of trial and error, I got the hang of it. Once the tobacco was at the right consistency, the machine worked like a charm. I loaded up the tobacco chamber, popped a tube on the end, and pressed the button. It filled the tube perfectly! Way faster and easier than doing it by hand, that’s for sure.
I did notice that if I wanted to make a whole bunch of cigarettes at once, this electric machine was definitely the way to go. It’s just so much quicker. The Powermatic 2+ also has this little switch that lets you use different sized tubes, like 100s or kings, which is pretty cool. So it allows you make different kinds of cigarettes.
One time, the machine got jammed. I’m pretty sure the tobacco was still a little too wet. But once i did it right, it works well.
Overall, I’m happy with my Powermatic 2+. It took a little bit of getting used to, but now I can roll my own cigarettes no problem. It’s definitely saving me money, and it’s kind of fun too, in a way. If you’re thinking about rolling your own, I’d say go for it. Just remember to use the right kind of tobacco and let it dry out a bit first!
