Okay, so the other day I was messing around with my Elf Bar vape, you know, the AF5000 one, and I thought, “Why not try to refill this thing?” I mean, it’s supposed to be disposable, but I’m always up for a little DIY project.
First off, I grabbed the vape and looked for a way to get to the pod. It wasn’t super obvious, but I noticed a small seam on the side. Took a small flathead screwdriver—the kind you use for eyeglasses—and gently pried it open. I had to be careful not to crack the plastic, but it popped open after a bit of wiggling.

Once I got the pod out, I saw this little rubber stopper. I’m guessing that’s the fill port. I pulled that out—it was kinda snug, but it came out eventually. Now, for the e-liquid. I had a bottle of my favorite juice lying around, so I grabbed that and one of those needle-tip bottles. It makes things a lot less messy. Filled that up, then carefully squeezed the e-liquid into the pod. It took a bit of patience to not overfill it.
Here’s a breakdown:
- Get the pod out by carefully prying it open.
- Remove the rubber stopper from the fill port.
- Fill the pod with e-liquid using a needle-tip bottle.
- Put the stopper back in.
- Snap the pod back into the device.
After I filled it, I put the rubber stopper back in, making sure it was sealed tight. Then I just snapped the pod back into the main part of the vape. It clicked into place, which was satisfying.
I gave it a few minutes to let the e-liquid soak into the coil—didn’t want any dry hits. Then I took a puff, and it worked! The flavor was just as good as when it was new. I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie.
So yeah, it turns out you can refill an Elf Bar, at least the AF5000 model. It’s a bit of a process, and you gotta be gentle, but it’s doable. It’s a nice way to save a bit of money and keep these things out of the trash for a little longer. Just remember, it’s probably not what the manufacturer intended, so do it at your own risk. But hey, if you’re a bit handy and like to tinker, give it a shot!
