Alright, let’s talk about them Pod Juice Oxbar flavors, you know, the ones them young folks are always puffin’ on. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I’ve heard things and seen things, and I can tell ya a thing or two, the way I see it.
First off, there’s a whole bunch of ’em, more than I can count on my fingers and toes, that’s for sure. They got names like Berry Burst and all sorts of fancy stuff. Sounds like somethin’ you’d put in a pie, not somethin’ you’d suck on, but hey, what do I know? I’m just an old woman.
Now, this here Berry Burst, I hear it’s real popular. Folks say it tastes like a whole bunch of berries all mixed up together. Some say there’s even a bit of that pink grapefruit in there, you know, the sour kind. Makes your mouth pucker up just thinkin’ about it. But I guess them youngsters like it, ’cause they keep buyin’ it. They say it’s got a good “puff” to it too, whatever that means. Sounds like a steam engine to me.

- Some folks say it’s got a bit of tang to it
- And I heard tell it lasts a good long while, I mean, for them puffin’ things.
Then there’s this other one, can’t rightly remember the name, but it’s somethin’ blue, I think. Blue somethin’ or other. Maybe it’s Blue Raspberry? Anyway, they say it tastes like them blue candies, the ones that stain your tongue. I always told my grandkids not to eat too many of them, but they never listened. Kids these days, always doin’ what they ain’t supposed to.
And then there’s a whole mess of others, like Strawberry somethin’, and Watermelon somethin’, and even somethin’ called Kiwi somethin’. I ain’t never even seen a kiwi, let alone tasted one. Sounds like a bird to me. But I guess they put all sorts of things in them puffin’ sticks now. Land sakes, what will they think of next?
Now, I ain’t tried none of these flavors myself, and I don’t plan to. I got my own ways of enjoyin’ life, like sittin’ on the porch and watchin’ the birds, or bakin’ a good apple pie. But I can tell you this, them youngsters sure do love their Pod Juice Oxbar flavors. They’re always talkin’ about ’em, tradin’ ’em, and showin’ ’em off. It’s like a whole ‘nother world to me.
I heard tell that these Oxbar things, they ain’t like them old cigarette things. They say they don’t stink as bad, and they don’t leave that yellow stuff on your fingers. And they come in all them fancy flavors, like I said. But I still say, ain’t nothin’ good for you that you gotta suck on all day long. But that’s just my opinion, and I’m just an old woman, so what do I know?
I also heard that some of them Oxbar things, you can change out the flavors, like you’re changin’ a lightbulb or somethin’. They call it “replaceable prefilled pods” or some such nonsense. Sounds complicated to me. Back in my day, a smoke was a smoke, and that was that. No fancy flavors, no replaceable nothin’. Just plain old tobacco.
And another thing, I heard these things got somethin’ called “puffs.” Now, I don’t know what that is, but I guess it’s how many times you can suck on it before it’s empty. Some of them got more puffs than others, I hear. Seems like a competition to me, who can get the most puffs. Land sakes, what will they think of next? I tell you, young folks these days, they’re somethin’ else.
But, I guess if it keeps them youngsters happy, and it ain’t hurtin’ nobody, then I ain’t got no right to complain. It’s their world now, and they can do what they want with it. Just as long as they stay outta my garden and don’t bother my chickens, that’s all I care about. So, if you want to try them Pod Juice Oxbar flavors, go right ahead. Just don’t come cryin’ to me if you start coughin’ and wheezin’. I told you so.
