So, I started vaping a while back, you know, as a way to kick the smoking habit. It was all good and dandy until I realized I was just swapping one addiction for another. Nicotine, man, it’s a sneaky little thing. Gets you hooked before you even know it. I decided I had to do something about it. I figured, why not try those no nicotine e-liquids? Seemed like a decent way to wean myself off the nicotine while still enjoying the whole vaping experience.
First things first, I had to figure out where I stood with my nicotine intake. I was vaping 3mg/ml juice, which isn’t super high, but it’s still nicotine. I thought, “Okay, let’s set some goals.” No cold turkey for me, that never works. I decided to gradually reduce the nicotine strength over time. Baby steps, right?

My Little Experiment
- Start Slow: I got myself a bottle of 0mg/ml e-liquid, the no nicotine stuff. I mixed it 50/50 with my usual 3mg/ml juice. This gave me a new mix with 1.5mg/ml nicotine. Easy peasy, didn’t even need a calculator for that one.
- Get Used to It: I vaped this 1.5mg/ml mix for about a month. Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. My body seemed to adjust pretty well. It’s like when you switch from regular soda to diet – a little weird at first, but then you don’t even notice the difference.
- Take the Plunge: After a month, I felt ready to go full no-nicotine. I switched completely to the 0mg/ml e-liquid. The first few days were a bit rough, I won’t lie. I had some cravings, felt a bit irritable, but I stuck with it.
- Keep an Eye on Things: I paid close attention to how I was feeling. If the cravings got too intense, I’d consider going back to the 1.5mg/ml mix for a bit. But, I managed to push through.
It’s been a few months now, and I’m still vaping the no nicotine stuff. Do I still get cravings? Yeah, sometimes, especially when I’m stressed. But they’re way less intense and much easier to manage. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, though. Vaping, even without nicotine, can still be bad for you. I mean, you’re still inhaling stuff into your lungs that’s not exactly air. But, for me, it’s a much better alternative to smoking or being hooked on nicotine. I feel like I’m finally in control, and that’s a pretty good feeling.
The important thing is I tried to do something about it and make a change, right? This is just my experience, of course. Everyone’s different. What worked for me might not work for you. But if you’re thinking about ditching nicotine, I’d say give it a shot. Just remember to take it slow, listen to your body, and don’t be afraid to adjust your plan along the way. It is a tough but achievable journey!
