Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with my Geek Vape Aegis Legend 3 lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey figuring out these coils. I wanted to share my experience, especially for those who might be scratching their heads like I was.
First off, I grabbed my Aegis Legend 3 and noticed it wasn’t hitting right. The screen kept flashing “No Coil Detected,” which, you know, is pretty annoying when you’re just trying to get a good vape. So, I thought, “Okay, let’s dive into this.”

- I started by doing the obvious – checking if the device was even on. Turns out, sometimes it’s the simple things. You gotta press that fire button five times fast to unlock it. Mine was locked, so unlocking it was the first step. Phew, at least it wasn’t dead.
- Next, I unscrewed the tank. I’ve heard that sometimes the connection gets wonky, so a good old unscrew and rescrew can do the trick. I made sure it was snug but not too tight.
- Then I looked at the coil itself. The Aegis Legend 3 uses these Z series coils, and they’re supposed to be great for flavor and vapor. I had a 0.15 ohm coil in there, which should be good for 70-85 watts. I also had a spare 0.4 ohm coil, so I decided to switch them out just to see what happens.
- I carefully removed the old coil and popped in the new one. These are press-fit, so they’re pretty easy to swap out. After putting the new coil in, I screwed the tank back on.
- Still, the mod was giving me that “New Coil” message. I figured it was because the resistance was different or maybe the temperature had changed. From what I’ve read, these mods re-measure the resistance each time you put the tank back on or turn the device on.
Here’s where it got a bit more involved:
- I decided to clean everything. I took the tank apart, wiped down the connections, and made sure there wasn’t any gunk messing things up. I even cleaned the 510 connector pin, just in case.
- After cleaning, I reassembled the tank and screwed it back onto the mod. This time, I pressed the fire button three times quickly to get into the settings. I wanted to make sure I was in the right mode.
- I also tried a different tank, just to rule out any issues with the tank itself. It’s a good way to check if the problem is with the mod or the atomizer.
- Finally, after all that, it started working! I think the combination of cleaning, reseating the coil, and making sure everything was properly connected did the trick.
Honestly, it was a bit of trial and error, but I learned a lot about how this thing works. If you’re having trouble with your Aegis Legend 3 coils, hopefully, my little adventure here can help you out. Just remember to check the simple stuff first, clean everything thoroughly, and don’t be afraid to try swapping out coils or tanks to see what’s up. Happy vaping, folks!
