Alright, today I wanna talk about something that’s been bugging me lately – the coils for the Smok Nord GT. I picked this thing up a while back ’cause I was looking for something sleek, you know, like a pod system but with some real power behind it. Adjustable wattage and sub-ohm coils? Sounded perfect.
So, I started with the coils that came with the kit. The 0.15 Ohm and 0.23 Ohm RPM 3 coils. First off, these things are made for some serious clouds. I usually go for nic salts or a 50/50 blend, ’cause I like that throat hit. But man, these coils with that kind of juice, it’s a bit much. It’s okay, but I felt it wasn’t for me.

Experimenting with Different Coils
I did some digging around, trying to find what else I could use. I heard some folks talking about the 0.6 Ohm Nord coils, saying they give a stronger nicotine hit but less vapor. Sounds more up my alley, right? Then there’s the 0.4 Ohm RPM mesh coil, which apparently gives you a smoother hit. I’m more interested in the nicotine one, so I decided to try the 0.6 Ohm Nord coils.
- Tried the 0.6 Ohm Nord coils: I got myself a pack of 0.6 Ohm Nord coils. I popped one in, filled up the tank with my usual nic salt, and gave it a go.
- Adjusted the wattage: Played around with the wattage a bit to see what felt right. These coils don’t need as much power as the sub-ohm ones, which is a plus for battery life.
- Noticed the difference: The vapor production was definitely less, which I liked. And yeah, the nicotine hit was more pronounced. It felt closer to what I was used to with older pod systems, but with the added benefit of the Nord GT’s features.
This is just my experience. I don’t know what to say, but I think there are many coils that you may try. I’m just sharing what worked for me. If you’re like me, looking for that balance between a good hit and not drowning in clouds, you might wanna give the 0.6 Ohm Nord coils a shot. And the RPM ones, I haven’t tried them yet, but they’re on my list. So, anyone else messed around with different coils on the Nord GT? Let me know what you’ve found. We’re all in this cloudy boat together, right?
