My boy told me the other day, this game, this grape escape shooting, it’s all the rage now. Kids these days, always on their phones and computers, playing games, shooting, escaping, whatever. This grape thing, it sounds crazy.
Grape Get Mashed
This game, you gotta get your grape out, escape. But there’s this, this thing, that mashes the grapes. Make them into jam, my boy said. If your grape gets mashed, you gotta start over. Start from the beginning. Goodness me! Sounds messy. And hard.
One time, this grape, it just won’t move. Stuck, like my old tractor in the mud that one year. And then, you gotta use this… this thing, to smash. Stomp, stomp, stomp. Sounds like a lot of work just to move a little grape, huh?
Grape Escape Rooms
They got these rooms now, too. Grape escape rooms, they call them. For the older kids, and even the grown-ups, they say. Like a puzzle, you gotta figure it out to get out. And they make it all dark and scary, with music and all. Sounds like a haunted house to me. I wouldn’t go in there, no sir. Not my cup of tea.
Some folks say they are good, though. Good for groups. Gotta work together, figure things out. Like when we all helped with the harvest that one year, remember? Everyone pitching in, getting the job done. Team work that’s all.

So, this grape escape shooting, it’s a big deal, I guess. Different ways to play, different things to do. My boy, he loves it. Spends hours on that computer, shooting and escaping and all that.
Hard Game, Easy Game
He said there’s many ways, to do this thing. Some are hard, some are easy, just like life. The hard one, that’s when the bad guys are real mean. Shoot better, hurt more. More of them, too. More things you gotta do to get out. Just like life, the hard path, got to work hard, many things to do.
Easy path, is good too, sometimes you need easy. Like when I make jam, easy to make and easy to eat, hah.
All kinds of Grapes
He was talking ’bout cards, too. Grape cards, I don’t know. You pick your cards, make a, a group, he said. A “deck,” I think he called it. Like a deck of playing cards, but with grapes. And each group, they’re different. Some are strong, some are weak. You gotta pick the right ones, he said. Just like picking the right seeds for planting, right?
One group, it’s all the same. All the same kind of grape. Strong, he said, can get through anything. Like a good, strong workhorse, pulling the plow. Another group, it’s mixed. Different kinds of grapes. Some are good at one thing, some are good at another. You gotta use them all together, he said. Like a good team, everyone doing their part. Sounds like what he learned from me, work hard.
And then there’s this other group, with all kinds of grapes. Every kind, he said. Sounds messy to me, but he likes it. Says it’s fun. Kids these days, they like all kinds of things, don’t they? As long as they’re having fun, I guess. And staying out of trouble. That’s the main thing, right?
So, this grape escape shooting, it’s more than just shooting and escaping, I guess. It’s about picking the right grapes, making the right groups, working together. Maybe it’s not so bad after all. Maybe these kids are learning something, even while they’re playing their games.

But still, I wouldn’t go in one of those rooms. Too dark and scary for me. I’ll stick to my garden, thank you very much. Growing real grapes, not these computer ones. And making real jam, the old-fashioned way. That’s the life for me. This grape escape shooting game is good for kids, not for me. I like my grapes real, not a picture in a computer game.

My boy said, you got to get answers, to play this game. Answers for the questions, how much it costs, when to get there, how many folks can go. Just like life, got to have answers.
He said, it is good for many people play together. Many people make it fun. He likes to play with his friends. They play together, laugh together, like when we all kids, playing in the field. Good old time.
So, this game, grape escape shooting, it’s something, huh? Kids love it. Maybe it’s good for them. Keeps them busy. Maybe they learn something, too. Who knows? As long as they’re happy, that’s all that matters, right? And as long as they don’t forget about the real grapes, the ones that grow in the ground. Those are the best kind, if you ask me.
