Okay, so I wanted to mess around with some new vape coils, specifically for my Freemax setup. I decided to try out the Freemax Solo coils ’cause I heard some good things about them. I grabbed a pack of the Fireluke Solo FL Mesh coils, the ones that are supposed to work with the Fireluke Solo Tank and the Maxus Solo Kit. These things come in different types, so you gotta choose which one you like.
Getting Started
First, I made sure I had everything I needed. I had my Freemax Maxus Solo mod, the Fireluke Solo Tank, and the new coils. I got myself a pack of the 0.15ohm FL1-D coils, but they also have 0.2ohm FL2 coils. I figured I’d start with the 0.15ohm ones, just to see how they perform.

Installing the Coil
- Unscrew the Tank: I unscrewed the base of the Fireluke Solo Tank. It’s pretty straightforward, just twist it off.
- Remove the Old Coil: The old coil was just sitting there. I pulled it out gently. It’s always a bit messy with the leftover e-juice, so I had a paper towel ready.
- Prime the New Coil: This is a must. I took the new 0.15ohm FL1-D coil and dripped some e-juice onto the cotton parts. This helps prevent dry hits when you first start using it. I just kept dripping until the cotton looked pretty soaked.
- Insert the New Coil: I pushed the new coil into the base of the tank. It fits in snugly, so you know it’s in there right.
- Reassemble the Tank: Then, I screwed the base back onto the tank. Made sure it was tight, but not too tight.
Filling Up
With the new coil in place, I filled the tank with my favorite e-juice. The Fireluke Solo Tank is easy to fill, you just slide open the top cap and pour in the juice. I made sure not to overfill it, left a little space at the top.
Vaping Time
I let the e-juice soak into the coil for a few minutes. Patience is key here, don’t want to rush it and end up with a burnt taste. Once I figured it was ready, I started with a low wattage, around 50W, just to break in the coil. Then I slowly increased it, testing the flavor and vapor production. These FL1-D coils are supposed to be good between 50W and 80W, so I played around within that range.
My Thoughts
Honestly, the flavor was pretty awesome. I could really taste the different notes in my e-juice, more than with my old coils. The vapor production was solid, too. Nice, thick clouds, which is always fun. I did notice that these coils heat up pretty fast, which is a good thing, means less waiting time.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with these Freemax Solo coils. They’re easy to install, provide great flavor and vapor, and seem to last a while. If you’re using a Fireluke Solo Tank or a Maxus Solo Kit, I’d definitely recommend giving these coils a try. You can choose between the 0.15ohm FL1-D or the 0.2ohm FL2, depending on your preference. Just remember to prime the coil properly and start with a lower wattage to break it in. Happy vaping!
