Okay, so I was going on a trip last week and, as usual, I wanted to bring my Geek Bar with me. I mean, who doesn’t need their trusty vape, right? But I always get a bit nervous about flying with these things. I know there are some rules, but they’re always so confusing!
First things first, I checked out what the TSA’s deal was. Their website is a maze, but I eventually dug up some info. They say you can bring vapes on a plane, but only in your carry-on bag. No checking them in your suitcase! That’s because of the batteries, apparently they’re a fire hazard in the cargo hold. Makes sense, I guess. Lithium-ion batteries.

So, I made sure to pack my Geek Bar in my carry-on.
- I also took apart the device, you know, just to be extra safe. I separated the battery from the tank and put them in separate ziplock bags.
- I even wrapped them in some bubble wrap, just in case. Better safe than sorry, right?
I know some people say you don’t have to do all that, but I’d rather be cautious. Besides, it only took a few extra minutes.
When I got to security, I was a little worried they’d give me a hard time, but it was a breeze! I just put my bag on the conveyor belt, and it went through the X-ray machine without any problems. The TSA agent didn’t even bat an eye. I guess these things are so common now that they’re used to seeing them.
Once I was on the plane, I felt pretty relieved. It’s always nice to have your vape with you when you’re traveling. I did not pull it out on the plane though. That’s not a smart move.
Some Takeaway
The whole experience was way easier than I thought it would be. As long as you follow the rules and pack your Geek Bar (or any other vape, for that matter) in your carry-on, you should be fine. Just make sure you don’t accidentally turn it on during the flight – that’s a big no-no! Also, the amount you take should be reasonable. And don’t vape on the plane. It’s not allowed, and it’s just not cool.
So, yeah, that’s my story about taking my Geek Bar on a plane. Hope it helps someone out there who’s stressing about the same thing!
