So, the other day, I grabbed one of those Geek Bar Pulse X things. I’ve been using the regular Geek Bar Pulse for a while now, about five of ’em a month. But this new “X” version? Man, it’s been a bit of a headache.
First off, this thing is supposed to hit harder. They say it’s like 25 watts in Pulse mode compared to 20 on the old one. I figured, cool, more power. But honestly, it just feels like it’s burning through the juice faster. And that fancy 3D curved screen? It’s neat, I guess, but it’s not really doing anything for me. Feels like a gimmick.

Anyway, I started hitting it, and things were okay for a bit. But then, out of nowhere, it just kept firing after I stopped pulling. I was like, “What the heck?” I tried turning it off and on, you know, the usual troubleshooting stuff. No dice. It kept going like the Energizer bunny. Super annoying.
- I noticed this thing has a puff sensor, and from what I could gather online, that seemed to be the culprit. Apparently, when it gets stuck, it causes this continuous firing thing.
- I even saw some folks talking about a blinking red light issue, but thankfully, I didn’t have that problem. Mine was just firing non-stop.
I messed around with it some more, trying to figure out a fix. I mean, I paid good money for this thing, and I wasn’t about to just toss it. Then I remembered something I read online. Someone said to turn it off, take a hit while it’s off, and then turn it back on while still hitting it. It sounded weird, but I was desperate.
So, I tried it. I turned it off, hit it, and while I was still puffing, I flipped the switch back on. And guess what? It worked! The thing stopped firing on its own. I couldn’t believe it. It was such a simple fix, but it totally did the trick.
I’ve been using it for a few days now since the fix, and it’s been working fine. I’m still not sure if I’m sold on this “X” version, though. It’s a bit too flashy for my taste, and I feel like I’m going through the juice quicker. But at least it’s not constantly firing anymore. I might just go back to the regular Geek Bar Pulse next time, or maybe I’ll try a different brand altogether. We’ll see. This whole experience has been a bit of a rollercoaster, to be honest.
Lesson learned:
sometimes the simplest solutions are the best, even if they sound a little crazy.
