Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with vaping for a while now, and I gotta say, it’s a whole different world compared to smoking. But one thing that always bugged me was figuring out how often I should actually be hitting my vape. I mean, is there like a rule or something? Turns out, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer, but I’ve learned a few things along the way that I figured I’d share.
First off, I started by just vaping whenever I felt like it. You know, just like with cigarettes. But I quickly realized that wasn’t the best approach. I was going through e-juice like crazy, and my throat started to feel like sandpaper. Then I did some research online, which said that I could try to take around 4-5 drags each time I vape 15-30 seconds apart. That is a relatively good idea.

So, I decided to be a bit more methodical. I started paying attention to how many puffs I was taking and how often. I even set a timer a few times just to get a feel for the pacing. What I found was that taking a few hits every now and then worked best for me. I wasn’t constantly vaping, but I was still getting my nicotine fix. And you know what, 5% is 50mg. That is a very high amount of nic for anyone, even heavy smokers.
Here’s the thing, though, I also read online that if you vape every day, you may be putting your health at risk. Vaping can cause lung damage and other health problems. But it really depends on the person. Some folks can handle vaping all day long, while others, like me, prefer to take it easy. I usually aim for a couple of sessions a day, with maybe 4-5 puffs each time. And I try to space those puffs out, like taking a hit every 15-30 seconds or so. It seems to be the sweet spot for me. I also find that if I’m chain vaping, I get a headache and feel kind of nauseous. Not fun.
But here’s the kicker, I also learned online that nicotine vaping could still damage your health. “Your lungs aren’t meant to deal with the constant challenge of non-air that people are putting into them—sometimes as many as 200 puffs a day—day after day, week after week, year after year,”. So I always keep that in mind.
I also experimented with different nicotine strengths. I started with a higher level, but I found that it was way too much for me. I was getting nic sick all the time, and it just wasn’t enjoyable. So, I dropped down to a lower strength, and that made a huge difference. I could vape more often without feeling like crap.
Here are some of the things I tried:
- Tracking my puffs: I literally counted how many hits I was taking each session. It sounds silly, but it helped me get a sense of my usage.
- Setting a timer: This was mostly to help me space out my puffs. I didn’t want to be hitting my vape every few seconds.
- Changing nicotine strengths: I experimented with different levels until I found one that worked for me.
- Listening to my body: If I started to feel lightheaded or nauseous, I knew I was overdoing it.
At the end of the day, it’s all about finding what works best for you. There’s no magic number of puffs or frequency that’s going to be perfect for everyone. Just pay attention to your body, experiment a little, and don’t be afraid to adjust your habits as needed. And remember, vaping isn’t exactly healthy, so it’s always a good idea to be mindful of your usage.
So yeah, that’s my two cents on how often you should hit a vape. Hope it helps someone out there!
