Okay, here is my story about dropping my vape in the toilet.
It was a normal day, just like any other, and I was at home, chilling. I had my vape in my hand, as usual, and needed to use the bathroom. So I went to the toilet, still holding my vape, and well, you can guess what happened next. As I was, uh, doing my business, the vape slipped from my hand and plopped right into the toilet bowl. Damn!

I stared in disbelief for a second. My vape! In the toilet! I quickly fished it out. It was dripping wet, and I was freaking out a bit, not gonna lie. First thing I did was try to dry it off with some toilet paper. I wiped it down as best as I could, trying to get into all the little holes and stuff.
Then I remembered that you’re not supposed to use electronics after they get wet, right? So I took it apart as much as I could. I pulled out the pod, separated the battery part, and laid all the pieces out on a clean paper towel. I didn’t see any water inside, but I wasn’t taking any chances.
I left the parts to air dry for, like, the whole day. I was so antsy, constantly checking on them. I even aimed a fan at the pieces to speed things up, crossing my fingers it would work.
After about 8 hours, I thought it was dry enough to try. I put the whole thing back together, held my breath, and pressed the button. Nothing. No light, no vapor, nothing. I felt like crying or screaming into a pillow at that moment.
- Don’t take your vape to the bathroom. Just don’t.
- If it does fall in, acting fast can maybe save it, but no guarantees.
- Water and electronics are a bad combo, for real.
- Always, and I mean ALWAYS have a backup vape.
My takeaways from this horrible experience are:
So yeah, that’s my story about how I dropped my vape in the toilet and it died a watery death. It was a sad day, but I learned my lesson. Now I’m extra careful, and my new vape never leaves my sight… unless I’m in the bathroom, of course. Then it stays far, far away.
