Alright, so the other day I was messing around with my vape and I got this crazy idea. I had these two disposable vapes, both kinda running low, but different flavors, you know? And I thought, what if I could combine them into one? Like, a 2-flavor disposable vape switch. Sounds cool, right?
So I grabbed my tools – just a small screwdriver and some tweezers, nothing fancy. First, I took apart both vapes. You just need to carefully pry off the bottom caps. The insides are pretty simple: a battery, a little circuit board, and the tanks holding the juice.
Disassemble the Vapes
- Pry off the bottom caps: Carefully use a small screwdriver to pop off the bottom caps of both vapes.
- Expose the internals: Once the caps are off, you’ll see the battery, circuit board, and juice tanks inside each vape.
Now, the tricky part was figuring out how to connect them. I saw that each vape had two wires connecting the battery to the circuit board. I figured, I could just wire these up to a switch so I can easily to change it. So, I carefully unsoldered the wires. Don’t burn yourself, okay?
Connect the Wires
- Unsoldered the wires: Make sure to heat up each solder joint until it melts, then gently pull the wire away.
- Clean the solder points: Wipe down the solder points on the circuit boards and the wires to remove any excess solder.
I found a small switch from an old toy. Any small two-way switch should work, though. I soldered one set of wires from one vape to one side of the switch, and the other set from the other vape to the other side. It took some patience and a few tries, but I got it to work!
Attach the Switch
- Prepare the switch: I got a small two-way switch from an old toy.
- Soldered the wires to switch: Connect the wires from one vape to one side of the switch, and the wires from the other vape to the other side.
I put one of the vape’s bodies back together, making a small hole for the switch to stick out. Then, I carefully placed the other vape’s guts inside, making sure the wires were connected to the switch. I used a bit of tape to hold everything in place. It wasn’t pretty, but it worked!
Reassemble and Test
- Create a hole for the switch: I made a small hole in the body of one of the vapes for the switch to stick out.
- Assemble the combined vape: Put the internals of both vapes into one body, ensuring the wires are correctly connected to the switch.
- Secure with tape: Use a bit of tape to hold everything in place inside the vape body.
Now I can switch between the two flavors whenever I want! Just flip the switch, and it changes which vape heats up. It’s a bit bulky, but hey, it’s a cool little project, right? I mean, it’s not perfect, but it’s a fun experiment. And now I have a unique vape that no one else has!
