Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with making my own vape juice lately, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip. I started because I heard some folks talking about how propylene glycol (PG) can be a bit harsh on the throat and lungs, and I’m all about that smooth vaping life. So, I decided to try my hand at making vape juice without propylene glycol.
First off, finding stuff that doesn’t have PG in it is kind of a pain. Most of the flavorings I came across had it mixed in. But I was determined, so I kept digging.

I did a ton of reading online. Turns out, PG is in, like, everything! It’s in your food, your medicine, even your house stuff. In vape juice, it’s supposed to give you that throat hit that some people like. But for me, I wanted to see if I could get a good vape without it.
I learned that there are two main things in vape juice: vegetable glycerin (VG) and propylene glycol (PG). They’re in a bunch of other stuff too, not just vaping. Apparently, you can’t really make vape juice without both of them, they’re like the main ingredients.
But, get this – there are vape juices that say they’re VG-based, but they still have PG snuck in there! Sneaky, right? I wanted the real deal, 100% PG-free. After hunting around, I finally found a place that sells flavorings with no PG. Score!
Experiment Time
I grabbed some VG, which is super thick, by the way, and my new PG-free flavorings. I mixed them up, following some recipes I found online – just a few drops of flavoring to start, you don’t want to overdo it.
- First Try: I went with a simple fruit flavor. The vapor was huge because of all the VG, but the flavor was kind of weak. It was smooth, though, no harshness at all.
- Second Try: I upped the flavoring a bit. The flavor was better, but still not quite there. It was like something was missing.
- Third Try: I tried a different flavor, a dessert one this time. And boom! This one was pretty good. The flavor was rich, the vapor was thick, and it was smooth as silk.
I’ve made a few more batches since then, playing around with different flavors. It’s actually pretty fun, like being a mad scientist but for vape juice. It has taken many attempts, but in the end it all worked out, and now I have a good solution for my PG-free vape juice. I’m still figuring things out, but I’m definitely getting better at it. And the best part is, my throat isn’t getting irritated anymore. It’s a win-win!
So, if you’re thinking about making your own vape juice, especially without PG, just know it takes some trial and error. But it’s totally doable, and it’s kind of a fun little project. Just make sure you do your research and get the right ingredients. Happy vaping!
