So, I messed up and broke the glass on my Geekvape Z tank. Yeah, I know, I’m a klutz. It happens. Anyway, I needed to fix it, so I ordered a replacement glass online. They call it a “Pyrex” glass, whatever that means. It was pretty cheap, so I grabbed a couple just in case I have another “oops” moment down the road.
First thing I did was take apart the tank. I unscrewed the top and bottom parts to get to the broken glass. There were bits of glass everywhere, so I had to be careful not to cut myself. I used some tweezers to pick out all the little shards stuck in the O-rings. Gotta make sure those are clean, otherwise, it won’t seal right and you’ll have a leaky mess.
Getting the Old Glass Out
Getting the broken glass out was a bit of a pain. I didn’t care about saving it, so I just carefully broke it up into smaller pieces with some pliers. Made it easier to remove. If you’re feeling brave, you could try to remove it in one piece, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster to me. I heard some people use fishing line or something, but I didn’t have any lying around.
- Unscrew the top and bottom of the tank.
- Carefully remove all the broken glass pieces.
- Clean the O-rings thoroughly.
Putting in the New Glass
Once I had all the old glass out and everything was nice and clean, it was time to put the new glass in. I carefully lined up the new glass with the O-rings and gently pressed it into place. You gotta make sure it’s seated properly, or it might leak. Then I just screwed the top and bottom parts of the tank back on, and boom, good as new!
It’s actually a pretty easy fix, even for a butterfingers like me. Just be careful with the broken glass and make sure everything is clean before you put the new one in. Now I’m back to vaping, and hopefully, I won’t break this one anytime soon!
