Okay, so I’ve got this Aspire Nautilus tank, and I’ve been using it for a while now. Recently, I noticed the flavor was getting a bit muted, and the vapor production wasn’t as good as it used to be. That’s when I figured it was probably time to change the coil.
First things first, I unscrewed the bottom part of the tank. You know, the part that connects to your battery. Then, I held the tank upside down because there was still some e-juice in there, and I didn’t want to spill it all over the place.

With the tank upside down, I could see the old coil screwed into the base. It looked a little gunked up, as expected. I simply unscrewed the old coil and tossed it in the trash. Make sure to be careful not to tear the rubber insulator or lose any pieces during this process. I have seen someone cleaning everything to reuse it but I don’t recommend it.
Next, I grabbed a new coil from the pack. I made sure to get the right one, a 1.8ohm coil, because that’s what I prefer. If you like this one, you should set the wattage of your device to around 10-14W. And I think you’d better not set the wattage too high. I screwed the new coil into the base, making sure it was snug but not too tight.
After that, I carefully pulled the glass tube off of the tank. It was a little sticky, but it came off eventually. I put the glass tube back on, pressing firmly to make sure it was secure. Then, I put the top cap back on and screwed it on.
Before filling it up with e-juice, I primed the coil. This just means putting a few drops of e-juice directly onto the cotton inside the coil. This helps to prevent dry hits when you first start using the new coil.
- Unscrew the bottom of the tank.
- Hold the tank upside down and unscrew the old coil.
- Screw in a new coil.
- Remove the glass tube and put it back.
- Put the top cap back and screw it on.
- Prime the new coil with a few drops of e-juice.
Finally, I filled the tank with my favorite e-juice, screwed the bottom back on, and let it sit for a few minutes to make sure the coil was fully saturated. And that’s it! My Nautilus tank was good as new, and the flavor and vapor were back to being awesome.
This is what I did last night, I hope it helps.
