Okay, so I recently had to take a flight and I’ve got this Geek Bar vape that I didn’t want to leave behind. I wasn’t sure if I could bring it on the plane, so I did a little digging online.
It seemed like most people were saying you could bring it, but only in your carry-on. That’s because of the lithium battery – apparently, those can be a fire hazard in the cargo hold. So, checked baggage was a no-go.

Then, I went through security. I put my Geek Bar in a separate bin with my other electronics, like my phone and laptop. I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but nobody batted an eye.
On the plane, I definitely didn’t use it. I mean, I saw online that airplane smoke detectors can pick up vape smoke, and I didn’t want to risk setting off any alarms or getting in trouble. That would have been a disaster!
- Searched online about bringing vapes on planes.
- Found out vapes are allowed in carry-on bags, but not checked luggage.
- Placed my Geek Bar in a separate bin at security.
- Went through security with no issues.
- Did not use the vape on the plane to avoid problems.
My Experience:
So yeah, in the end, it was all good. I got to my destination with my Geek Bar. Just remember, keep it in your carry-on, don’t use it on the plane, and you should be fine. At least, that’s how it worked out for me!
If you have an Elf Bar, it is the same. I guess those are pretty popular so a lot of people are asking about that.
Oh, and some people said it might explode but I think that’s if you mess with it or maybe if it gets damaged somehow? Mine was totally fine. I just kept it in its original packaging and didn’t take any risks. And yeah, some folks said to check with your airline to be extra sure, but I didn’t bother and it was all okay.
I’m just sharing my experience, so don’t take this as like, official advice or anything. But hopefully, this helps someone out there who’s wondering the same thing! I just wanted to get my story out there since I couldn’t find a clear answer when I was looking.
