I have this eleaf mini istick, you know, the small one, and it’s been pretty reliable. But, for some reason, it just stopped working today. It wouldn’t turn on, and I was like, “What the heck is going on?”
First, I tried the usual – you know, pressing the power button five times quickly. I did that a bunch of times, and nothing happened. It was like it was completely dead.

Then I thought, maybe it’s the battery. So, I plugged it into the charger, and still nothing. The screen didn’t light up, no charging indicator, nothing at all. It was really weird.
I started to get a bit worried. I really like this little vape, and I didn’t want to have to buy a new one. So I thought, okay, let’s try some other stuff. I remembered reading somewhere about a reset button. I looked around on the device, and there it was, a tiny little hole. I grabbed a paperclip and pressed the reset button, but nope, that didn’t work either.
Next, I thought maybe it was the coil. So I took the tank off, and tried to put it on again. Still nothing. I even tried a different coil, just in case, but that didn’t help either.
I was getting pretty frustrated at this point. I decided to do a little experiment. I have another vape mod, so I took the tank off the eleaf and put it on the other mod. And guess what? The tank worked perfectly on the other mod. So, I figured the problem must be with the eleaf mini istick itself, not the tank or the coil.
Then I had a lightbulb moment. I remembered that sometimes, if you hold the up arrow button and press the reset button at the same time, it can do a sort of “hard reset” on some devices. So, I tried that. I plugged the eleaf into my computer, held the “+” button, and pressed the reset button once. Then, I let go of the “+” button.
And, guess what, it workd! After I re-plugged the eleaf, the screen lit up, and it started charging! I couldn’t believe it. It was like magic. I let it charge for a while, and then I tried turning it on, and it worked perfectly!
My conclusion
- If it doesn’t turn on, try pressing the power button five times quickly.
- If that doesn’t work, try plugging it into a charger.
- If it’s still not working, try resetting it by pressing the reset button.
- If you have another mod, try the tank on that to see if the problem is with the tank or the mod itself.
- As a last resort, try the “hard reset” method by holding the “+” button and pressing the reset button at the same time while it’s plugged into a computer.
I was so relieved that I got my eleaf mini istick working again. It’s my favorite little vape, and I’m glad I didn’t have to replace it. Hopefully, this little adventure of mine will help someone else out there who’s having the same problem.
