So, I’ve got this Elf Bar, right? And it’s been doing something weird lately. Every time I take a puff, it keeps going even after I’ve stopped. It’s like it has a mind of its own, just vaping away.
At first, I thought I was going crazy. I’d take a drag, pull it away from my mouth, and it would still be producing vapor. Not a lot, but enough to be noticeable, and definitely not normal. I’m kinda new to this whole vaping thing, so I wasn’t sure if this was just how these things worked.

I did what anyone would do – I started messing around with it. I turned it off and then back on. You know, the classic “have you tried turning it off and on again?” tech support move. I even did the whole “count to three” thing while it was off, just for good measure. No dice. It still kept firing after I stopped inhaling.

Then I remembered reading something about these things auto-firing because of leaks. Apparently, if the e-liquid leaks into the battery compartment, it can mess things up and cause a short circuit. That sounded pretty bad, so I decided to investigate.
- Inspection Time: I took the pod out and looked inside the port where the pod sits.
- Cleaning: I saw the sensor and what I think was an air hole. I grabbed a cotton swab and carefully cleaned around those areas. I figured maybe some gunk was messing with the sensor.
After cleaning it, I put the pod back in, took a puff, and…it was still doing it! The auto-firing continued. At this point, I was starting to get a little frustrated.
Then it hit me – maybe it’s a short circuit. I had read that short circuits can cause weird behavior, like the device staying on and making strange noises. My Elf Bar wasn’t making any weird noises, but it was definitely staying on longer than it should.
I decided to stop using it for a while, just to be safe. I didn’t want to risk anything bad happening. I even thought about taking it to a vape shop to get it checked out, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
For now, the Elf Bar is sitting on my desk, unused. I might try to clean it again later, or maybe I’ll just have to accept that it’s possessed and get a new one. It’s a bummer, but what can you do? These things happen, I guess.
