Alright, so I was planning this trip, and I’m a big fan of my Geek Bar, you know? Keeps me sane during those long waits at the airport. But then I started thinking, “Can I even bring this thing on the plane?” I’ve heard stories, man. Some folks say it’s cool, others say it’s a big no-no. So, I decided to do a little digging myself and, well, take the plunge.
First thing I did was hit up the internet. I read a bunch of stuff, mostly forums and some official-looking pages. It seemed like most people were saying you could bring it, but only in your carry-on. That’s because of the lithium battery – apparently, those things can be a fire hazard in the cargo hold. But the rules seemed kinda fuzzy, and it sounded like different airports had different vibes about it. Some security checks are strict as hell, some are pretty chill. So I thought, “Screw it, I’ll just try it and see what happens.”

The day of the flight, I packed my Geek Bar in my carry-on, right on top so I could grab it easily if needed. I also made sure it wasn’t gonna accidentally turn on in my bag. When I got to the airport, I was kinda nervous. I mean, I didn’t want to be that guy holding up the line or, worse, getting my vape confiscated. I wanted to make sure I could bring it with me so I had something to do during the flight.
My experience taking my Geek Bar on the plane
- Going Through Security: When I got to security, I put my bag on the conveyor belt, heart pounding a little. The TSA agent didn’t bat an eye. My bag went through, and they didn’t say a thing. I was like, “Sweet, maybe this is gonna work.”
- On the Plane: Once I was on the plane, I kept the Geek Bar in my bag. I know you’re not supposed to use them on the plane, and I wasn’t about to risk it. But just knowing it was there was kinda comforting. I also noticed that after taking off, it did leak a little bit. This happens every time, so make sure you put it in a little ziplock bag or something.
- Landing: When we landed, I checked my Geek Bar, and it was fine. No issues, no leaks, no explosions. I was pretty stoked. It was like, “Yes! I did it!”
So, yeah, that’s my story. I took my Geek Bar on a plane, and it was all good. I was kinda expecting the worst, but it turned out to be no big deal. Now, I’m not saying it’s gonna be like this every time. Different airlines, different airports, different security folks – they might have different rules. But for me, it worked out. I just made sure to keep it in my carry-on, turned off, and didn’t try to use it on the plane. Easy peasy. If you’re thinking about bringing your vape on a flight, I’d say do your research, be prepared, and don’t be a dummy. And maybe, just maybe, it’ll be smooth sailing for you too. Just don’t actually use it on the plane, seriously, it’s not worth it and you’ll get in trouble.
