Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out this whole vape calorie thing, and let me tell you, it’s a bit of a rabbit hole. I mean, who even thinks about calories in a vape, right? But I was curious, so I started digging around. It’s not like there are nutrition labels on these things. You can’t just look at the back of your e-juice bottle and see the calorie count like you can with a bag of chips.
My Experiment
I decided to do a little experiment. Nothing too scientific, just a bit of trial and error. First, I looked at the ingredients in my vape juice. It’s basically this stuff called propylene glycol (PG) and vegetable glycerin (VG), plus some flavorings and nicotine. I guess some of the e-liquid products may contains small amounts of sugar or sweeteners.

Here’s what I did:
- Checked the ingredients: Mostly PG and VG.
- Looked up calorie info: Found some rough estimates online.
- Did some basic math: Tried to calculate based on the amount of juice I vape in a day.
I found out that PG and VG do have some calories, but it’s not a lot. Like, we’re talking maybe 4 calories per milliliter for VG and a bit less for PG. It also depends on the specific composition of the e-liquid. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t exactly measure out my vape juice. I just fill up my tank and go. So, I had to guess a bit. Let’s say I go through about 2 milliliters a day, maybe a bit more on a busy day.
Based on my rough estimate, that’s like 8-10 calories a day from vaping. Honestly, that’s nothing. It’s like the equivalent of a couple of carrot sticks. But, like, vaping isn’t food, you know? It’s not something you should think of as a source of calories, or really, as a nutrition of any kind.
So, yeah, my little experiment didn’t really reveal anything groundbreaking. Vaping does involve some calories, but it’s such a small amount that it’s not even worth worrying about. I guess if you’re super strict about your calorie counting, you could factor it in, but for most people, it’s probably not a big deal. I’m definitely not going to lose sleep over it. I wanted to share it with you all. That is all.
