Okay, so, picture this: I was chilling by the pool, you know, just relaxing and enjoying the sun. I had my vape in my hand, and next thing I know, I somehow managed to drop it right into the water. Splash! It sank to the bottom like a rock. My heart seriously dropped – that thing wasn’t cheap. Also I wanted to use it.
First things first, I fished it out of the pool as fast as humanly possible. Then, I quickly removed the pod, figured that part was probably a lost cause. It seemed to me that the water got in there and mixed up with the juice and I didn’t want to try that.

Now, for the battery part. I shook it out a bit, trying to get any excess water out. Not sure how much that really helped, but it made me feel like I was doing something. Then I grabbed some paper towels and patted it down as best as I could. I placed the battery in a sunny spot on the patio table. I figured the heat would help evaporate any remaining moisture. I left it there for like 5 hours, just to be safe. Maybe it’s a little bit too long.
Later, once I was pretty sure it was completely dry (at least I hoped it was), I got a new pod. Put it in and took a tentative puff. To my surprise, it actually worked! The taste was fine, and it produced vapor just like before. I was so relieved that I didn’t have to buy a whole new vape.
Here’s what I learned from my little incident:
- Don’t panic. It’s probably not as bad as it seems.
- Get it out of the water ASAP. Every second counts.
- Remove the pod. Just toss it and get a new one.
- Dry the battery as much as possible. Use a sunny spot or a warm place.
- Be patient. Give it time to fully dry before using it again.
Honestly, it was a bit of a scare, but everything turned out okay. I’m just glad I didn’t have to shell out cash for a replacement. If this happens to you, don’t freak out. Just follow these steps, and hopefully, your vape will be back in action.
