Alright, let’s talk about this here Geek Bar Pulse thingy. You know, the one you puff on. Why’s it keep hittin’ even when you ain’t puffin’? Drives ya nuts, right? Like a darn woodpecker on a tin roof. I tell ya, it ain’t right.

So, first things first, sometimes these things just go wonky. Like that old tractor back on the farm – sometimes it just wouldn’t quit chuggin’ even when you turned the key off. This here Geek Bar, it’s kinda the same. It’s got this thingamajig inside, a “sensor” they call it, that’s supposed to know when you’re takin’ a puff. But sometimes, that thing gets stuck. Stuck like a pig in mud, I tell ya. And then, it just keeps on hittin’ and hittin’ even when you ain’t doin’ nothin’. That’s what they call “auto-firing,” sounds fancy, but it just means it’s misbehavin’.
Now, this auto-firing ain’t just a bother, it can be downright dangerous. See, when it keeps firin’ like that, it can make that little battery inside get hotter than a skillet on a wood stove. And that ain’t good. Batteries gettin’ too hot, well, that’s just askin’ for trouble. Could even, you know, pop or somethin’. So you gotta be careful.
So, what do you do when this here thing starts actin’ up? Well, first thing I’d try is cleanin’ it. Yeah, clean it. Like you clean your glasses when they get all smudged up. Get a cotton swab or somethin’ and wipe around that mouthpiece, where you put your lips. And those little air holes, give them a good once-over too. Sometimes, juice or gunk or whatever gets in there and messes things up. If you’re lucky, that’ll fix it. Worth a try, anyhow.
- Wipe the mouthpiece, real good.
- Clean the air vents, make sure nothin’s blocked.
If that don’t do the trick, well, then you got a bigger problem. Maybe that sensor thingy is really stuck good. Some folks say you can take these things apart, but I wouldn’t mess with it. Too much trouble, and you might just make it worse. It’s like tryin’ to fix a watch with a hammer. Not a good idea.
Now, some folks say you can turn these things off. But these Geek Bars, most of ‘em you can’t turn off like a light switch. They just work when you puff and stop when you don’t. But if yours does have a way to turn it off, well, then do it! If there’s no power goin’ to it, it can’t fire. Simple as that.
Another thing, if you just got this thing and it’s actin’ up right out of the box, well, maybe it’s just a bad one. Happens sometimes. Take it back to where you got it and get a new one. Don’t mess around with somethin’ that ain’t workin’ right from the start.
And remember, if this here Geek Bar keeps firin’ and gettin’ hot, don’t just ignore it. Put it somewhere safe, where it can’t start a fire. Maybe outside on the porch, on a brick or somethin’. And if you’re really worried, go talk to someone who knows about these things. Better safe than sorry, that’s what I always say.
So, that’s the long and short of it. If your Geek Bar Pulse is hittin’ when it shouldn’t, try cleanin’ it. If that don’t work and you can turn it off then turn it off. And if it’s still acting up or gettin’ hot, don’t take no chances. Get rid of it and get a new one. It ain’t worth frettin’ over, and definitely not worth gettin’ hurt over.

One last thing, If your Geek Bar Pulse ain’t workin’ at all, like it won’t even turn on, well, that’s a whole different kettle of fish. Maybe it’s just dead, outta juice. Or maybe somethin’ else is wrong. But that’s a story for another day.
