Today, I messed with my smok vape for a good while. It just wouldn’t turn on or charge. I was scratching my head, wondering what was going on.
First, I pressed the fire button like a madman, five times super fast as some folks suggested online. Still nothing. The screen stayed dark, and it felt like I was just mashing a useless button.

Then, I took a look at the tank. I disconnected and then reconnected it, making sure it was screwed on tight. I even cleaned the contact points between the tank and the battery, thinking maybe there was some gunk preventing a good connection. Nope, that wasn’t it either.
The Battery and Charging Ports
Next, I inspected the battery’s contact points and the charging ports. I cleaned them up real good, ensuring there wasn’t any dirt or residue. I even tried different charging cables and outlets, just in case the problem was with my charger. Still, the vape remained lifeless.
Tried Heating It Up
Someone online mentioned that a clogged cartridge could be the culprit. So, I grabbed my wife’s hair dryer and used it on the lowest setting to gently heat the cartridge. The idea was to get the oil inside moving, in case it was too thick or stuck. It was a long shot, but I was willing to try anything at this point.
After all these attempts, my smok vape was still not working. It wouldn’t turn on, and it wouldn’t charge. I guess it’s time to face the music and look for a new one. Maybe the battery’s just completely dead, or there’s some internal issue that’s beyond my DIY skills.
I am a little bit disappointed but I learned a bit about how these things work. Plus, I can share my experience and maybe save someone else some trouble. If your smok vape won’t turn on or charge, you might want to try these steps, but don’t get your hopes too high. Sometimes, these gadgets just give up the ghost.
