So, I recently picked up a new vape, and I’ve been playing around with the settings. There’s this little switch on the side with an “S” and a “D” – I was totally clueless about what they meant. I started digging around, and here’s what I found out.
First, I tried toggling the switch to see what would happen. When I put it on “S”, it felt like a regular vape hit, nothing too crazy. But then, when I flipped it to “D”, it was a whole different story. The airflow was way more open, and it felt like I was taking a huge breath of fresh air. It was definitely a smoother, cooler hit.

After messing around with it, I decided to actually look up what these settings mean. Turns out, “S” stands for single mesh coil, and “D” is for dual mesh coil.
- S Mode: This is the basic setting. It’s supposed to give you around 20,000 puffs, which is pretty standard. The pull is tighter, kind of like smoking a cigarette, and the vapor is warmer and thicker.
- D Mode: This mode is all about that airy, cool vape. It’s more Direct Lung (DL) vaping, where the vapor is inhaled directly into the lungs, much like breathing air. It’s supposed to give you a more intense flavor, but it’s also going to go through your juice faster.
What I Found
I also stumbled upon some other letters in the settings, like “TC-SS” and I had no idea what it was about. I figured out it’s about temperature control for stainless steel coils. Apparently, you can set a specific temperature, and the device will adjust the power to keep it there. They say it’s a safety thing because stainless steel can release some nasty stuff if it gets too hot. Smart mode automatically chooses the wattage, and won’t allow you to exceed the maximum wattage for that coil.
Honestly, I’m still a newb when it comes to all these advanced settings. But from what I’ve experienced so far, the “S” and “D” modes are pretty straightforward. “S” for a regular, cigarette-like hit, and “D” for a more open, airy vape. It’s cool that you can switch between them depending on what you’re in the mood for.
The other settings, like TC-SS, Smart mode are still a bit over my head, but I like knowing they’re there. Maybe I’ll get into them more as I get more comfortable with this thing. But for now, I’m happy just switching between “S” and “D” and enjoying the different experiences they offer.
If any of you have more experience with these settings, I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m always up for learning more about this stuff!
